Samuel Hof – More About Me

I’ve always been drawn to places that feel untouched — not just beautiful, but quiet. The kind of spots where you pause, look around, and realize: no one else is here. That feeling became the starting point for Spotly.

My background is in design, and from the beginning, I wanted to build something that reflects how I travel — simple, calm, and full of discovery. Spotly isn't about collecting pins on a map; it's about slowing down and seeing more, even if you're walking less.

I’m happiest when I’m outdoors — hiking with friends, setting up a tent by a lake, or just driving with no fixed plan. And when I’m not exploring, I’m behind my laptop, designing and improving the Spotly platform to make it as effortless and inspiring as the places it helps people find.

Fun Facts

  • I once spent 48 hours in a mountain hut with no Wi-Fi, no      electricity — just a sketchbook and a view of the Matterhorn.

  • I have a secret list of the 17 best benches in Europe (and yes, I’ve tested them all).

  • I once got sunburned and snowed on during the same hike in the Swiss Alps.

  • I can light a campfire in under 60 seconds (unless it’s windy, then maybe two minutes).

  • My ideal souvenir? A weird rock I found and probably shouldn’t have taken.
